Marcus Vega

Marcus Vega started his career as a software developer before transitioning to tech journalism in 2018. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, he covers the wave of Latin American founders choosing Miami as their U.S. base. Marcus is appropriately skeptical of hype cycles — the FTX collapse taught him that — while remaining genuinely excited about the innovation happening across South Florida. When he's not at a startup pitch event or touring a university research lab, you'll find Marcus at a Wynwood coffee shop debugging side projects, biking the Venetian Causeway, or exploring the latest gallery openings in the Design District. He moved to Miami from São Paulo and fell in love with the city's energy.
